It really is time to cut the lawn!

also known as : can you spot the child.

In my own defense it has been raining for a full week and I didn't want to cut a wet lawn. We have a big lawn so I would have been out there in the rain for a long time. But today we had a bright sunny afternoon. It dried the grass and my kids had so much fun playing in the long grass. So now I need to decide if I want to cut it short or leave it long and they can continue to play in it rather than on it. Or I could cut the front and have it look nice from the street, leave the back yard long and natural for the kids :D

so should I cut it or leave it long???

June kit from l-m

I had a lot of fun putting this kit together. I was in the mood for summer and fun, I think I accomplished it lol. The papers are new from Paper Salon and so very yummy in person. (I have a picture of Ashlin that is so prefect for this kit!) I just need to find the time and energy to scrap. Orange is the new pink, I am loving it, and let me tell you the orange letter stickers from Junkitz are so bold and awesome!! Can you believe I have moved off PINK as my fav color.

What is your favourite color right now?

Just a little creation

I am trying to scrap again, it feels like it has been a long time. It hasn't really but it still feels like it. I have some really cool goodies from SEI to use, I am just waiting for a good time to print out the pictures I guess. In the meantimes I made two little altered coasters for Ashlin's school friends. I hear that they were really happy with them too.

Actually I really want to make a layout using the new June kit from l-m but I have been to busy with life recently. The good news is the garden is in, the bad news is I am not to sure how well it will grow since Colton was in charge of covering the seeds. We planted beans, peas, carrots, radish, sweet peas, onions, pumpkins and a few other veggies. Now the test will be to see if they eat the veggies when they grow. I am most excited about the poumpkins and the sweet peas! Nothing smells prettier that a fresh bouquet of sweet pea flowers.

Can you believe how fast the year has flown by! It is almost JUNE! Time for swim club for the kiddos and numb bum for me from the seating at the pool - oh yay!

summer days are here!

I finally put the sprinkler on the other day for the kids to play in. Talk about excited! I took a ton of pictures but this one of Colton really makes me smile. You can't really tell he is in the sprinkler but I still think it will be a great addition to a layout when I do one. I am actually going to try out Photoworks for photo printing. It will be different for me to have a bunch of 4 x 6 pictures in my hands since I normally print as I go. This summer weather makes for much more amazing photos though and I am finally totally excited to take WAY to many pictures!!! Now I need to get a huge zoom lens so I can take pictures of the kids without them knowing it. (Ashlin gets so silly and 'posed' when she sees the camera on her)

Anyways here is a sight of summer:

a scrapbooking challenge

well I posted a challenge on l-m, and I even did a layout to go with it :D This is Stayce's sweet daughters and it was so much fun to scrap them. I did the big flower as an effort to do something different than my normal thing - not to sure how it worked out.

I got a really sweet clay plaque of Ashlin's handprint for Mother's Day. She made it in kindergarten. I need to take a picture and scrap it :D And from Colton I got a glass jar of premixed pancake mix, and the recipe. They did it at preschool and he still talks about the fun of the flour going everywhere. How old do you think we are when we lose the ability to get so much joy out of something so simple as playing in flour? And perhaps more importantly is it possible to never lose that quality?

ok done :D

It took me two days and the pink bazzill scanned a bit off - but I finished a layout (ya go me) This is my daughter when she was three, and I am in shock abou thow little hair she had. It was so fine and it was impossible to keep in a pony or barrette. Now she is six and her hair is so long and thick! So if you are worried about your childs really fine hair just know that there is hope :D

remember Survivor tonight!

do you think that...

spiders are nature's way of telling that I need to scrap more often. Or at the very least make sure I go through my stash every once in a while just to see what I have?

Last night I had run-ins with TWO spiders in my scrap area :( At least they were teeny tiny so not to scary but still ICK!!! I have the urge to clean in now lol

I hope to finish my layout this afternoon - so stay tuned!

I got my car back :D

Yay - I never realized how much I love my car until I didn't get to drive it for a week. Let me tell you that heated seats are all that matters when you get options lol (I missed them!) The dent is gone from my front end, and they also got rid of all the rock chips too. I was a bit worried about the drive today after waking to snow - and a near miss this morning from another driving who turned when he was not looking, I am so glad to be home safe and sound!!

I got some great mail goodies today! We have super cute goodies from SEI as our design team June sponsor so I can't wait to create some layouts with their Winnies Walls papers. Too cute - and Jenny the extra stuff is wonderful, thank you! I want to run down to my scrap desk and create but it is pretty late and after driving all day I feel a bit carsick. I will leave you with a scan of a card I made the other afternoon.

do I need a fancy banner??

What do you think - is plain boring or should I try and make a banner???

to begin again....

so I deleted my old blog - and honestly I do miss it. I had it for almost a year but in a fit of PMS I deleted it. As a woman I should know to never do anything except eat chocolate during "that" time of the month but; oh well.

And now on the adgenda for me?

A new blog.

Some scrapping stuff
Some leaving-memories stuff

Life

And let's not forget the kids! I mean I do spend over 23 hours a day with them, of course they need to be a huge part of my blog. BTW at what age do they sleep in their own beds all night? (seriously I don't mind to much since they crawl in and go right to sleep, it would be different if they woke me up and wanted this and that at 4:00AM)

and hubby, well let's see if he does anything blog worthy lol. The good news is I think he is starting to not mind when I pull out the camera now. He doesn't run away and actually stays in the picture. YAY

So for the NSD Cybercrop at l-m I did two scrap projects. The first is a layout of Colton the day he got his first bike. It took a bit but he caught on and he was riding like a champ within the first hour. (a quick prayer of thanks for the training wheels)

and then a quick wall hanging I did for Ashlin's room.

I was going to do a word like dream or adore but that was a lot of letters I would have to hand cut so I went with this:
and I made a few cards for friends :D Now I just need to make sure I get them in the mail!!!!!
